Every morning, we jump from our beds with a cup of coffee in one hand, a digital device in the other, and dive right into our emails, the latest news in the wild web world, the newest, greatest iPad app… We all do it, and it is all good.

But what about forty minutes of quiet thinking and deep inspiration. Twice a week, under the Californian blue sky, I get some valuable minutes on my way to work on my bike. Energized by the crisp breeze, I have time to reflect on my life, my accomplishments and my ambitions. To think about the work waiting for me, the challenges and issues I faced yesterday, the ideas and the solutions I am going to bring today. Along the San Diego river, a flight of cormorants and two or three ideas later, I arrive at my real office; the MTV Real World location  (we took over after the famous show). A shower, a last look at the San Diego Bay and I am ready for a nice, long productive day. At the end that is all we want, a fresh brain in a healthy body.

Thinking, reflecting, perspective… how very French of you. 😉

…and tiring; sometimes I wish I was not thinking.

Right on, brother. That’s all we can ask for.
